For more than 30 years, Josef and Eveline Pichler have been welcoming guests in their businesses in the Wachau. Since the beginning, our hotel family has grown bit by bit, with the youngest member being Luberegg Castle which was fully renovated and enchants its visitors in a new light today.

Milestones from our history:

1988, one week after their wedding, Josef and Eveline Pichler began building the Hotel Donauhof and thus fulfilled their dream of an own hotel business.

2003: Complete restructuring of the restaurant area

2014: Complete renovation of 24 guest rooms with ceiling cooling, low-energy heating and massage mattrasses, the external façade and the kitchen

2018: Changeover and implementation of resource-saving heating technology - away from fossil energy to heat recovery and energy use optimisation in the entire house

Full of zest into the future

Even the next generation is already at the starting line: Daughter Maria-Theresa and son Franz-Josef were taught the art of hospitality since they were little and they have known the hotel forever. This is why the two of them will lead the Pichler businesses in the future with pride and passion.
