Luberegg Castle at the river Danube belongs to the most romantic and unusual buildings in the region, just opposite of Melk. Luberegg was erected just before the year 1787 by Joseph von Fürnberg, the famous Danube marine admiral and timber merchant from the Waldviertel.

No matter where you come from – already the journey to this place will be a sight for sore eyes and prepare you for the ambience of the Schüttkasten Geras in the nature park of the same name. The nearly endless distance of the meadows and fields all around let the mind become calm and the soul open. Arrive. After a loving and elaborate renovation, we reopened our doors on August 1, 2025 – with a fresh name, new sparkle, yet the same good old Heurigen heart.
